Eagle Crest Estate on Orcas Island Among the Area's Most Expensive & Exceptional Offerings

The market has done little to cool off along with the weather, and homes listed for sale are still seeing multiple offers across the Puget Sound. According to the Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ), it’s not just homes in the median price range that are garnering bidding matches.

According to PSBJ, top-level homes are sought out by local buyers—not those who might be relocating from California, a trend that we’ve seen in the past. Among the most expensive homes on the market in September were two Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty listings, Château de Chêne, a waterfront property that recently closed in West Bellevue for $22.75 million, represented by Jay Kipp, and Eagle Crest Estate on Orcas Island, represented by Citrone Partners Julie Biniasz and Sandy Justen.

Eagle Crest Estate

Offered at $28 million the 127-acre property is comprised of three homes totaling 12,509 square feet of living space, with 3,000 feet of waterfront and a deep-water moorage dock.

Of the homes listed on PSBJ’s list, Eagle Crest Estate offers the most in acreage and arguably, privacy. While primed for a private compound, nature is on full display at this island retreat. Eagles and seasonal migrations of birds and owls soar overhead, deer roam the forest, otters and seals bask on the rocks, and other sea creatures pass by.

Notable details of the estate include the incorporation of historic cobblestones from Pioneer Square. Two authentic English Cottages play homage to the estate’s original Victorian cottages that were beyond restoration and removed, while a mid-century modern beach house along the water has been thoughtfully updated. All of the living spaces and outbuildings, plus the orchards and grounds, have been lovingly cared for.

We won’t be surprised when the next stewards of this storied estate invest in this singular offering.
